Earlier this month, Tori Amos announced plans for a holiday EP titled Christmastide. Now, she has shared the first of four songs from the record, "Better Angels."Arriving alongside an animated lyric video, the song is the first entry in a collection of yuletide tracks Amos recorded in an effort "to try and lift people's spirits."
"With 'Better Angels' I wanted to acknowledge the year we have all been through and know that there is hope," Amos said in a statement. "We can find that hope within ourselves if we continue to focus our collective minds and souls. We are slowly starting to find a clearer path to transform together for the better of all."
The four-track EP is set to arrive on December 4 through Decca Records. Joined by drummer Matt Chamberlain and bassist Jon Evans for the EP, Amos will release the new record on 12-inch vinyl with cover art by Rantz Hosely.
Her latest album was 2017's Native Invader. Earlier this year, Amos released her memoir, Resistance: A Songwriter's Story of Hope, Change and Courage.
