'Red Dead Redemption 2' Soundtrack Adds D'Angelo, Nas, Willie Nelson, Josh Homme
Published Oct 31, 2018After announcing that Daniel Lanois, Colin Stetson, Arca and many more would be part of the Red Dead Redemption 2 soundtrack, Rockstar Games has now confirmed the involvement of D'Angelo, among other special guests.
A press release confirms that the elusive neo-soul icon contributed a vocal performance to the game as part of a song titled "Unshaken," which musically-inclined gamers discovered while playing through the new Western title earlier this week.
A press release now reveals further contributions from Willie Nelson, Nas, Rhiannon Giddens and Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme, in addition to a new track written, produced and performed by engineer David Ferguson.
As previously reported, Red Dead Redemption 2's score was composed by Woody Jackson (Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto V), with "additional music and arrangements," coming from the likes of Colin Stetson, Matt Sweeney, (Chavez, Zwan) David Ferguson, David Ralicke, Gabe Witcher, Luke O'Malley, Mario Batkovic, Rabih Beaini and Senyawa.
Additionally, "over 110 other musicians" are providing even more music, including Arca, Mars Volta/Queens of the Stone Age drummer Jon Theodore, former Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band drummer James Gadson, Duane Eddy and more.
A release date for the Red Dead Redemption 2 soundtrack has yet to be set. The game itself is out now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
