Frances Bean Loses Kurt Cobain's Iconic 'MTV Unplugged' Guitar to Ex-Husband
Published May 15, 2018After a two-year legal battle, the iconic guitar Kurt Cobain played during the recording of Nirvana's MTV Unplugged album has gone to Frances Bean Cobain's ex-husband Isaiah Silva.
TMZ reports that the couple reached a property settlement six months after their divorce was finalized in November of last year. Silva had previously claimed that Cobain's Martin D-18E from the famed performance was gifted to him by Bean as a wedding present.
TMZ notes that Bean decided to part with the guitar to avoid any further legal battles with Silva.
Last year, the site reported that Frances had filed court documents in attempt to reclaim the instrument, saying she would never give him a "priceless family heirloom."
Nirvana's MTV Unplugged was released on November 1, 1994, seven months after Cobain was found dead at his home in Seattle.
