Sonic Youth Unload Another 12 Archival Releases to Bandcamp
Sonic Youth have once again done a massive Bandcamp drop, with the group adding a dozen new archival and side-project releases just in time for the platform's latest charitable initiative.

Following a similarly massive drop, SY has treated us to a ton more goodies both from the band proper, as well as side-projects helmed by various members — including former MVP Jim O'Rourke.

Among the new offerings are a Lee Ranaldo live recording from Toronto in 2001; a release called Melbourne Direct featuring Steve Shelley, Jim O'Rourke, Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo; a Sonic Youth live albums from Yugoslavia, London's Brixton Academy and Irvine, CA; the fictional Wylde Ratttz project who contributed tracks to Todd Haynes's glam-rock film Velvet Goldmine; an album by Kim Gordon, Jim O'Rourke and Alan Licht; and Steve Shelley-tied projects Riviera Gaz, Gata Pirâmide and Emma Tricca.

As a bonus, we've also include the recent Thurston Moore solo track "Strawberry Moon," which you can catch IRL tonight if you look up into that night sky.

You can check out the releases from the latest drop down below.

Today Bandcamp earning will go to support local bail funds, Black Lives Matter chapters, anti-racist organizations and more. Bandcamp will also donate 100 percent of proceeds from sales for a 24-hour period on June 19 to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, committing to doing the same on Juneteenth every year going forward.
