Published Jan 14, 2016Little Scream (a.k.a. Montreal-based singer-songwriter Laurel Sprengelmeyer) is apparently ready to finally follow up her 2011 debut, The Golden Record, as the musician has announced that she's linked up with a pair of record labels that will put the sophomore set into stores sometime soon. Little Scream is now signed to Dine Alone Records in Canada and Merge Records in the rest of the world.
While very little was offered up about the artist's as-yet-untitled next LP, a statement from Sprengelmeyer has her noting: "My new record is a crazy beast." More info on the collection is expected soon.
Meanwhile, Little Scream may well be putting some new tunes in her setlist these days, and fans can soon find her undertaking opening slots on tours with Operators in February and Thao & the Get Down Stay Down in April. Her show schedule includes a handful of dates in Ontario and Quebec, with the date and venue details available down below.
The Golden Record originally saw release in Canada through Outside, while Secretly Canadian handled the release on the other side of the border.
The album had Sprengelmeyer working with the likes of Arcade Fire's Richard Reed Parry and Sarah Neufeld, the National's Aaron Dessner and Snailhouse's Michael Feuerstack. Exclaim!'s review of the album described it as "intense and intimidating due to its beauty."
You'll find a video for the record's "Cannons" beneath the tour info.
